Kocee

Kocee, born Njang Mengu Collins on 18 November 1992 in Kumba, Cameroon, is a celebrated Cameroonian rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and entrepreneur. Originally from Bafut in the Northwest Region, he developed a passion for music at a young age while growing up in Kumba. He attended Victory Nursery and Primary School, Government Bilingual High School (GBHS) Kumba, and CCAST Kumba before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Management from the Higher Institute of Management Studies (HIMS) in Buea. Known for his energetic performances and rapid-fire lyrical delivery, he first gained recognition as “Cameroon’s Fastest Rapper.”

Kocee began his professional music career in 2015 as a member of the Preach It Movement (PIM) Boys before launching a successful solo career. His breakthrough came with the release of “Balancé,” followed by hit singles such as “I Love You” featuring Locko, “Caleçon” featuring Coco Argentée, “Mon Pala Pala,” “La Galère,” and the international hit “Credit Alert” featuring Nigerian superstar Patoranking. Over the years, he evolved from a hip-hop artist into one of Cameroon’s leading Afrobeats and Afropop performers, earning millions of streams across digital platforms.

Throughout his career, Kocee has received numerous accolades for his contributions to Cameroonian music and has performed on stages across Africa, Europe, and North America. In 2022, he released his debut album, Genesis, showcasing his versatility as both a rapper and singer. In 2026, he officially rebranded from KO-C to Kocee, reflecting a broader international vision for his career while continuing to lead his independent label, Power House Entertainment. His music seamlessly blends Afrobeats, pop, amapiano, and rap, making him one of the most recognizable urban artists from Cameroon.

Beyond his music, Kocee is widely recognized for his philanthropic efforts and commitment to community development. He has used his platform to support education by paying school fees for underprivileged children and assisting vulnerable families across Cameroon. Through his entrepreneurship, charitable work, and consistent musical success, Kocee has established himself as one of the country’s most influential contemporary artists, inspiring young creatives to pursue excellence while proudly representing Cameroonian music on the global stage.
